Plowing Match at Duncan, April, 2003
 

Saturday April 12th began at 6:00 a.m. as an overcast drizzly kind of day, not looking real good for plowing stubble land!!

But sure enough by the time Dennis W. and I arrived at Koksilah Nursery in Duncan, the rain had almost quit.

Set up opportunities were available before the match, so everyone was tinkering and adjusting their plows/tractors to exacting standards.

Rules and regulations were explained by the judges, Dave and Stewart Fordham, and by 11:00 a.m. competitors moved to their respective random drawn plots to begin their opening furrows. In all there were 12 competitors, and everyone enjoyed not only the main plowing competition, but also the open plowing or "power plowing" event that followed. Special Thanks to the Duncan District Vintage Machinery Society Volunteers for their efforts in making the match an annual event.
